Alien Pirate Ship

12"x12" Original painting and collage on a thick, gallery style canvas, ready to hang. You can frame it if you really want to, but the thick canvas alone makes it look great hanging on the wall. I used very thin acrylics mixed with water to create the background. I didn't have any pre-planned idea of what I was going to make, I simply wanted to enjoy the act of painting. The only colors I used were cobalt blue, red and yellow. The result was this weird watery-blue/green sky and raining red clouds. Next I started to cut and rearrange some tall triangles that reminded me of a sail boat, by adding more triangles started to resemble a pirate ship.

Overlapping Triangles

For this piece I cut out the same shape and overlapped them on top of each other, resembling a braid or fish tail. Each piece is different from the other. Framed with gold painted lattice, ready to hang.

Perfect for a house warming gift. I actually designed this piece with a young couple in mind. I use lace, string and yarn to create designs and then spray paint over them to make unique hand sprayed paper. I then start to cut pieces, push and play until it feels balanced. I limit myself to triangles, other than the square with a cut out door. After the pieces are adhered to the bare wood, I sprayed a mist of purple, teal and gold to make it feel magical.

Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds

My friend, Kara Hemsworth and I started this painting over 2 years ago when we were both finishing our BFA's. I'm not sure if it was that the canvas was so big and intimidating that we couldn't complete it or if we didn't have a way to meld our styles quite yet. She focuses in character design and development, mainly with animation and digital projects. She came up with the character, I was mainly responsible for composition, color and the spray paint of course. Obviously this was inspired by the Beatles song, "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds." We'll keep you updated!

Monster Monster!

Perfect for a child's bedroom or any fan of scary/funky creatures. With a stark white border, the composition is contained and flattering.

Painted on top of pearl Canson paper. I laid down the boarder by measuring out to the center of each side and spontaneously laying down a pattern. I laid string in the center and sprayed baby blue on top. On the edges I used dark gray and teal. I sprayed avocado green for the body of the monster used florescent orange to give the creature some eyes. For finishing touches I laid down a dark purple mist on the border and candy apple green on top of the monster.

Dreamcatcher

Yummy fun colors, hot pink and soft blues. Great for a summer time gift, unique and original work of art. It reminds my of a dream catcher, may be a fun work to hang in a bedroom over the head of a bed.

Painted on baby pink Canson paper. I laid down short pieces of yarn in a worm like pattern and sprayed baby blue and white droplets on top. Using graph paper I cut symmetrical diamonds with cut out details and placed them in a pattern in the center of the paper. I sprayed a medium pink first and then hot pink on top. After lifting the graph paper I made separate diamond shapes to lay on top and put thin masking tape radiating from the center.

Sunset Structure

I imagine the structure as futuristic oil rig in the water at sunset. Painted on marigold Canson paper, there is a slight texture to the paper. I laid down string on top of the paper and then sprayed a white mist of paint on it. After lifting the string, I sprayed teal and gray from the bottom of the paper. I used automotive decal tape to create the structure made of triangles and I sprayed white and gold spray paint on top.

Painted on light gray canson paper, there is a slight texture to the paper. I laid down string on top of the paper and then sprayed a light yellow on top. Around the edges I sprayed a light mossy green. After lifting the string, I used automotive decal tape to create the line designs and sprayed fluorescent pink, white and baby pink paint on top.
